Frequently Asked Questions about Feed Me Cricket.com

What's this site all about?

This site brings together posts from a large number of Cricket blogs from authors (mostly independent) all over the world. By aggregating the content, readers get a single starting point for cricket opinion, news and discussion which is constantly updating.
This helps bloggers by giving them another avenue of exposure and driving more traffic to their sites. This increases their competitiveness with the larger sport and cricket sites run by companies with full time staff and big promotional budgets.

Aren't you just stealing other people's posts??

No, we are trying to help blog authors, not exploit them.
We don't display full posts, only the post summaries provided in RSS feeds. Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is employed by blogs to help promote their posts on other sites. We only reproduce what is being provided in the RSS feeds, we don't scrape for full or extra content.

How do i add my blog's feed to the aggregator?

Simply submit the details here. Within a few days we will review you blog and its content and if it's appropriate, we'll add it to the list!

Why wasn't my blog accepted? or why was it removed from your site?

We are looking for blogs from genuine authors, posting their own original content, of which a clear majority is related to cricket. Any of the following could cause your blog to be rejected or removed:
  • Too much irrelevant content.
  • Posting content which isn't yours (appropriate use of sources is acceptable).
  • Little or poor content.
  • Placing too much advertising (i.e. 'made for adsense' sites).
  • 'Abandoned' blogs

What do the votes and views numbers mean?

We allow readers to vote up or vote down posts so that other readers get an indication about the quality and popularity of posts. This rewards and encourages good blogging and makes the site more useable for readers.
If you think a post is particularly worthy, we encourage you to vote for it. Likewise, if you think a post is no good, vote against it.

We also record the number of times a post has been clicked on.

What stops authors clicking their own posts to artificially inflate their popularity?

We track the IPs of all those who view and vote on posts. To try to discourage abuse of the voting system, we disallow the same IP from voting more than once for a post in a certain period. A similar rule applies to the number of views we count also...

Why are some posts and blogs highlighted with a star?

This means that they have placed a link (specifics are outlined below under 'How do I become a friend...') to Feed Me Cricket.com on the main page of their blog.
