Subhash Chandra meets Sharad Pawar over ICL

Televisionpoint.com Correspondent | New Delhi Subhash Chandra, chairman and managing director, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, had a secret meeting with Sharad Pawar, former president and vice-president, ICC on December 22 at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi. Also present at the meeting were David Morgan, president, ICC and Haroon Lorgat, CEO, ICC. Zee Entertainment promoted Indian Cricket League (ICL), labeled as rebels and their players banned and ridiculed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and all other cricket bodies in the world, has decided to say enough is enough, with Chandra urging Pawar and the ICC camp to resolve the pariah tag issue soon. The foursome of Morgan, Lorgat, Pawar and Chandra had an initial round of talks at around 7.30 pm. While Morgan, Lorgat and Pawar stayed back, Chandra left to attend a function at a Jewish centre near the Oberoi. It is suspected that Pawar, who has had such a big impact in the way the game is officially being run in the country, is working out ways of how to join hands with the ICL. Also, on the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking at amicable ways of removing the ban of its ICL players without inviting the BCCI wrath.
